Nearly forty years ago, the foundation of what would become the Halifax Jazz Festival was just beginning to form. From those early stages, we have grown into a cornerstone of community, artistry, education, and music — a defining part of Halifax’s summer and cultural identity.

At the Halifax Jazz Festival, we believe music should be accessible to everyone: to play, to learn, to experience, and to enjoy.

As we approach our 40th Festival, July 7–12, 2026, we invite our partners, supporters, and friends to help secure the future of what we’ve built together.

Over the next year, we’ll share the stories that bring the Halifax Jazz Festival to life — the artists, audiences, and collaborations that make our stages a place of connection and creativity.

Guided by the theme Building — Building the Dream, Building the Community, Building the Future — we’re celebrating our shared history while laying the groundwork for what’s next.

We begin this month with Building the Dream, a celebration of how your generosity has empowered artists, inspired audiences, and nurtured the next generation of musicians.

Over the coming weeks, you’ll hear from community members whose lives have been transformed through your support — and see how your continued investment ensures that the music will play on for generations to come.
