Keonté Beals, ANSMA Rising Star of the Year Award Winner (Feb 2016), age 19, was born and raised in North Preston, N.S. Keonté started singing at the age of 7. Prior to joining St. Thomas Baptist Church's Junior Choir. Keonté has shared the stage with accomplished artists such as Shawn Desman, Jackie Richardson, Reeny Smith, Lamar Ashe & many more! Keonté is one of the three 2015 award recipients of the Partnership of Hope Award presented by CHAMA and winner of ANSMA’s Emerging artist of the Year award in 2015 . He continues to bring forth incredible vocals, introducing a new sound to Halifax's Music Scene. Most recently he showcased at Music Nova Scotia Week 2015 held in Yarmouth as a part of the ANSMA (African Nova Scotian Music Association) Black Vibes Show & will be showcasing at this years East Coast Music Week Fest Held in Sydney. He was also a lead in the 2015 Advent Christmas show held at the SPATZ theatre. Keonté sings R&B, Grounded by his singing roots in Gospel choirs at Saint Thomas United Baptist Church. He is currently working on a new Project he hopes to release 2016. This amazing young man is a bright light in the Music scene. Stay tuned!
