The TD Halifax Jazz Festival is seeking a Craft Services Manager to undertake all craft services operations at the festival for crew, staff, and headline artists. It is estimated that 50 - 70 people will be fed three times daily plus maintaining a snack and coffee/cold drinks station throughout the day.
This position requires preparation, handling, and cooking of specific meal plans daily on a specific schedule which may change from day to day. The Craftservice Manager will consult with the Event Producer regarding requirements.
The Craftservice Manager will undertake the purchase of approved stock items as necessary as per the Event Producer or Hospitality Coordinator. S/he is also responsible for ensuring approved stock items are available and replenished as required.
The Manager will be required to work with a team of volunteers who will assist with preparation, presentation, delivery, and cleaning as required. The duties of the Craftservice Manager include the scheduling and assigning of duties within the department including volunteer shift scheduling.
A full service Craft Services kitchen truck will be provided.
This position reports to the Event Producer.
The Craftservice Manager must possess a current certificate from an accredited Safe Food Handling Program (Food Handler’s certificate).
Please Note: The Craftservice Manager is required to regularly lift heavy items such as coolers full of ice and drinks, 19 Litre water jugs, craft truck stairs, etc.
An estimated 12 hours a day for 7 days, plus additional pre-production work of approximately 6 hours, will be required to fulfill this contract.
