The collaboration of 3 diverse yet complimentary voices within the Halifax jazz, blues and R&B scene has resulted in a highly entertaining and joyful show that leaves the audience feeling uplifted and fulfilled.  The wonderful chemistry between Linda Carvery, Pam Barr and Krisanne Crowell is apparent immediately, engaging the listener and instantly settling them in for a great performance of polished music and entertainment.  Each vocalist is featured and backed beautifully by a stellar band.  When they combine their voices and warm personalities the smiles never stop as they interact easily and dynamically with the audience.

Krisanne Crowell doubles on sax, providing the musical direction and arrangements for the rhythm and 3-piece horn section.  A leading force in the Halifax jazz and blues scene and ECMA recipient with jump blues band, The Floorboards, she has played sax and piano, as well as arranging for many diverse ensembles.  Her debut cd, Right in the Middle of Wrong, featuring her catchy original lyrics, smooth vocals and fiery horn arrangements was a 2011 ECMA nominee for Best Jazz Recording. Krisanne’s latest project is heading a cast of all-star musicians in Swing Feat, East Coast Big Band in collaboration with the Dalhousie Swing Society.

Linda Carvery was founding president and member of award-winning Nova Scotia Mass Choir. Her first solo CD, Yesterday/Today, featuring her jazz, blues, R&B and gospel favourites, won the 2002 ECMA for Best Jazz Artist. She has performed in several of Neptune Theatre’s musical productions as well as the fundraiser, Halifax for Haiti, and the East Coast Blues Summit on CBC.  Her personable and powerful presence ensures a riveting entertainment experience that attracts a large and loyal following.

Pam Barr honed her performance chops in London, England for several years before returning to Halifax. Pam’s past performances include The Christmas Daddies Show, at The Atlantic Jazz Festival, the annual New Year’s Eve Ball in Stadacona’s Ward Room, and local clubs. Her 6-piece R&B band, Pam Barr and Friends and The Tuesday Night Swing Band feature her versatile, clear and strong vocals that glide between jazz, blues and R&B. Pam infuses performances with a cheeky wit, forging a warm and comfortable relationship with her audiences.

This winning combination of vocal power and musical diversity, with a naturally soulful charisma never fails to culminate in a memorable performance. An offshoot of Ladies in Blue, Bella Blue debuted to a full house in 2011 at The Common’s Room, sold out The Carleton in for Atlantic Jazz Fest in 2012 and stormed the blustery mainstage in 2016 to an enthusiastic crowd.
